New for 2013 enjoy gentle woodland walks and waterfalls, Queen’s View, our Red Deer encounter and Scone Palace, ancient crowning place of Scottish Kings. With plenty of time off the bus this tour is perfect for those who want to experience Highland scenery and nature at a relaxing pace.
Our route north takes us over the Forth Road Bridge, past Loch Leven and the fair city of Perth, arriving at the Hermitage approximately 90 minutes after leaving Edinburgh.
This lovely woodland ‘walk and talk’ takes us past one of the tallest trees in Britain to a spectacular waterfall and viewpoint where salmon can often be seen leaping the falls.
The centrepiece of the walk is a wild garden planted around Ossian’s Hall in the 18th century. A lovely way to start the day all seasons of the year!

Hermitage woodland and waterfall walk
A scenic drive takes us to Queen’s View for the much-admired Highland view and photo opportunity of Loch Tummel, Schiehallion mountain and the distant peaks of Glen Coe.
We travel along Loch Tummel and stop for lunch at Highland Safaris. Here you will come face-to-face with the red deer, Britain’s largest land mammal and have the opportunity to feed and stroke these magnificent animals. Your ranger/guide will tell you about their fascinating life cycle, likes, dislikes, habits and personalities.

Feeding red deer
This free-of-charge experience with great photo opportunities is an entertaining close-up encounter with Scotland’s most iconic animal.
After lunch we make the short trip to Aberfeldy for a beautiful walk through birch woods (the ‘Birks’ of Aberfeldy).
Popularised in song by Robert Burns, this nature trail alongside the Moness burn reveals several lovely waterfalls and there are numerous photo opportunities as we go. The gorge is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and it is likely there has been continual native woodland cover here for 8000 years.

Highland cows at Scone Palace
Once the crowning place of Scottish Kings, Scone Palace occupies a unique position in the history of Scotland and is our final stop.
There are numerous walks in the extensive grounds, the Murray Star Maze, the historic Palace itself and, of course, the friendly Highland cows and curious peacocks!

Scone Palace
One of Scotland’s greatest heroes and kings, Robert the Bruce, was crowned here in 1306.
Our special discounted prices are £7.90 (palace and grounds) and £5.40 (grounds only)
