Hello There!
After having spent last week in Scotland, I have to say that the most enjoyment I had was on the tours with Colin (Rosslyn and the Roman Border on Tuesday July 22, and Loch Ness and Legends on Wednesday July 23). He was incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely friendly and generally awesome!!! He felt like an old friend within the first hour of meeting him and treated us with the most amazing warmth. You could feel his passion and excitement for Scotland, and it was so infectious!
The country is beautiful and the tours are incredible. The timetable was excellent, and all of the stops showed new and amazing facets of Scotland's majestic beauty. I have never been so satisfied with a tour or a tour guide.
I plan on returning to Scotland in the near future to relive the great experience and share it with new people. One thing is for sure though, I will be calling ahead to find out which tours Colin is guiding. I couldn't imagine seeing the country with any other guide!
Thank you so! much!!! Laura :) , July 2008

3. The Footsteps Tour
Day One Leave Edinburgh at 8.30am for majestic Loch Lomond; via Inveraray to lunch at wholesome and tasty food at Kilmartin House with a visit to the standing stones at Temple Wood and Dunadd Fort (with a footprint that marks the capital of the Scots). To Oban, and the ferry to the Isle of Mull; stay at the highly cherished Argyll Hotel on the Island of Iona or at the Seaview B&B.
Iona Abbey
Day Two
A tour of Iona Abbey, the cradle of Celtic Christianity, followed by a leisurely half day boat trip to Staffa to travel in the footsteps of Sir Walter Scott, and Mendelssohn to name but a few who were inspired by the island with its famous Fingle's Cave, and a panoply of puffins and seals. Stay at the Argyll Hotel or at the Seaview B&B.
Day Three Leave Mull for glorious Loch Awe and Loch Tay; enter verdant and mysterious west Perthshire, perhaps search for the famed yet elusive Cave of Caerbannog; stay at the hideaway, Ardeonaig Hotel above the loch.
Day Four
Explore west Perthshire including visiting Europe's oldest living tree; find the evidence of the footsteps of the early Christians as they moved across this artery of Scotland, from Iona to Dunkeld. Visit Dunkeld Cathedral at the ancient pre-Christian confluence, and drink from one of the sacred healing wells around the old ‘city’.
